Fairkehr

fairkehr - the agency for sustainable mobility

Since its foundation in 1986, the Bonn-based fairkehr agency has been working continuously on better information in the field of sustainable mobility. We aim to change people’s awareness and behaviour in everyday and leisure traffic.

We proceed emphatically and humorously, avoiding finger-wagging as we work for a climate-friendlier, healthier and safer traffic environment.

Our work reflects the support of a large team of editors, PR advisors and communication consultants, event managers, webmasters and graphics experts.  All of them are well-experienced in the subject area of sustainability and sustainable mobility. We work for public, non-profit-making and commercial clients. Moreover, we have supervised numerous sustainability projects on behalf of several German federal ministries. The spectrum of our subjects comprises all means of transport, green tourism, education to a sustainable lifestyle and customer information on sustainable products.

24 years of fairkehr agency stand for 24 years of experience with sustainability, political actors, legal and technical issues as well as specific marketing and communication questions.

In addition to our activities as a marketing and communication agency in the field of sustainability, we publish two magazines (fairkehr – a magazine on transport and environment, www.fairkehr-magazin.de and Verträglich Reisen an annual magazine on sustainable travel, www.vertraeglich-reisen.de). Besides the print media, we run different information and campaign websites.

We offer consultation and products concerning ecological investment and insurances, eco-energies and many other questions customers have in the field of a sustainable lifestyle.

Projects for sustainable mobility in German cities

In October 2008, the fairkehr agency and velokonzept agency were awarded the contract by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety to conduct an image campaign for emission-free mobility at a national level.

The partners in this project consist of nine German municipalities: from Kiel in the north to Freiburg and Karlsruhe in the south of Germany. Through poster advertising, cinema ads, brochures, advertisements, internet and press relations, motorists were induced to switch to pedestrian and bicycle traffic. All processes are directed and coordinated by the team of the fairkehr agency in a supervisory capacity.

The first phase of the project “Kopf an: Motor aus.” (“Start your brains, not your car”) drew to an end in September 2009. All the objectives were achieved. The campaign evaluation revealed a very high acceptance rate among the residents of the participating cities. 75% had become aware of the campaign. 50% of these stated that the campaign had been thought-provoking and 20% stated a concrete change in their behaviour towards more emission-free mobility.
